About Us

Welcome and thank you for following Emily’s Hope Chest! My name is Shaunna Stallo, and I am the founder of Emily’s Hope Chest. I have always had a passion for helping others, and this non-profit organization is a dream come true for me. Emily’s Hope Chest is named in memory of Emily Rose Hamilton, who was a compassionate individual and would have been a valuable asset to the organization. Even while dealing with her own struggles, Emily was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. With Emily’s spirit in mind, we aim to render hope to those in our community who find themselves in times of need.

WHAT WE DO

The mission of Emily’s Hope Chest is to provide hope to individuals in Linn, Sullivan, and Chariton Counties in Missouri. We accomplish this by supplying essential items that improve health, promote hygiene, and address household needs. We have compiled a list of items based on input from agencies working closely with families in our community. Our goal is to maintain an ample supply of each item so that when a referral is received, the necessary items are readily accessible.

To ensure the sustainability of our mission, we welcome monetary donations, which can be made to our account with Regional Missouri Bank. 

These funds are used to purchase gas cards, enabling individuals to attend appointments, as well as to acquire beds for foster homes and other approved items identified by our board.  As an officially recognized 501(c)(3) organization, Emily’s Hope Chest is committed to making a positive impact and supporting those in need. We are grateful for everyone who has contributed to the establishment of Emily’s Hope Chest and expressed interest in being a part of this program. A special thank you goes to Emily’s family for allowing us to name the chest in her memory and for their unwavering support in making this endeavor possible.
